In tv show Hercules: The Legendary Journeys season 5 episode titled Once Upon a Future King aired 1999. Actress Sara Wiseman plays as villainess Mab.
Let's re-watch one of my childhood villainesses, let's see if Hercules: The Legendary Journeys as bad as modern western entertainment, better or worst, although, I think making TV show as bad as they are today requires more effort than it's required to make a good TV show LOL.
I'm so excited to watch this episode, yeah, it's my childhood villainess, but I really don't remember anything about the episode, I only recognized her when I watched the clip on Youtube, so, it's so nostalgic to watch the episode once more time.
Oh god, the intro of the episode is so bloody, they used practical effects tho, which I appreciate now.
Just after the battle scene we see our stunningly gorgeous sorceress, not having an HD version of this show is a sin.
The episode basically starts with Merlin sending both King Arthur and our villainess Mab in time to Hercules' era, saying "I can't stop you, so I'm sending you to someone who will".
It didn't take long for our evil sorceress and King Arthur to get their own army despite being in a different time and place, showing that their evil strength comes from within, not because their kingdom, that even being completely alone in the past, they manged to have an army under their command.
God, the intro, I love this intro, especially with the two-headed monster and the music, like, so nostalgic, I love it so much.
Around 9 minutes our sagacious sorceress gave King Arthur motivational speech on who he's way more than being a king of this small army, and his goal should be bigger than that, and that they have to find a way to go back to their own timeline.
King Arthur is clueless on how he can go back to his timeline, so our villainess had to show him how, now with them back in time, Merlin is also in the same timeline as young, and all they have to do is to go after him.
Our evil queen being well-informed with legends, she knew that the Excalibur isn't in the stone yet, so she then guided King Arthur to get the legendary sword from the guardian of the Excalibur.
Around 15 minutes, our villainess Mab and King Arthur finally manged to find Merlin..
God, I love how Mab uses her magic powers, like the way she act, and how powerful she looks, you would never get that in any modern show, because thought police commission would censor such scene as they consider enjoying watching villains doing evil act is a sin, so, creators can't make such scene, villains like Mab can't act powerful and dangerous, and either they turn them good, make them as bland as possible.
Anyway, the gorgeous evil sorceress finally manged to capture Merlin raising him above her head, with her black painted fingers around his neck 💗💗💗.
Yet, capturing Merlin wasn't as promising as our sorceress thought, as he has no idea on how to get them back to the future, as he's still young and had no idea how he sent them back to the past in the first place, so, she decided to use plan B, killing Merlin, and if he's dead in the past, he can't exist in the future, thus, he can't send our sorceress back in time, yet, it seems that there was some kind of protective shield protecting Merlin, that not only surprised our villainess, but Merlin himself was surprised.
Ok, Arthur is probably gonna join the good side and turn into a good king, well, he's not my king anymore, and not worthy of Mab's evil powers.
Around 31 minutes, our evil queen face Hercules while he was freeing Merlin, so, she ended trying to kill Hercules with her powers, for Hercules to block the fireball with the Excalibur back at her, to make her freeze, yet our beloved sorceress isn't done yet, as she still have one last trick in her sleeves, a giant monster who is willing to face the good guys. You can watch the final confrontation here.
I swear, I just finished watching the first season of some Hungarian show, thinking, maybe it's not censored, yet, as expected with all TV shows today, it was made under censorship committee, while this episode is absolutely amazing, I would even say, this single episode is way better than every show made by Hollywood in the last year, every single one, truly awesome.

In 1999 movie Velocity Trap. Actresses Jorja Fox and Kathleen Randazzo plays as female villains Alice Pallas and The Assassin.
Let's check this iconic movie, I love 90s scifi movies, it's really unique, it's like having a time machine, an having a movie with good quality is just the perfect antidote for the lack of entertainment today.
The 90s probes looks so cool, like the buttons, the costumes and such looks way better than modern CGI, honestly I think stopping watching modern movies is the best decision I made this year, watching 90s movies I really cool and way more fun.
The hero went to buy an apple and cost him 12 dollars and "bad guys" attacked him to steal it, I mean, that's probably what would happen if capitalism evolved without real reforms, at least movies back then had enough artistic freedom to portray how scary capitalism can be and how can it evolve into being a dystopian nightmare.
Around 19 minute mark we have a gorgeous hitwoman played by Kathleen Randazzo went to assassinate a target the hero was guarding, after she eliminated her target she shot one of the guards in her way out, and the hero was framed of shooting his friend by mistake, and in order to avoid punishment he had to accept a risky mission.
The relationship between the hero and the woman he loves Dana, is so cheesy and absurd, I love it LOL.
The character in this movie aren't complicated or deep or anything, but unique, and I really like that, it's not like characters today that feel that are all the same as if they are being mass produced for consumption exactly like Coca-Cola or Pepsi products.
Although the effects is so outdated and the movie is low budget, the space travel in this movie is probably more believable than the absolute majority of big budget movies/shows today, it provide the escapism and using practical effects really help, while today entertainment is hostile towards both escapism and well.. entertainment.
The movie have a problem of telling not showing, like when they were talking about another ship was hit by asteroid, but that's was probably due to the limitation of the movie's budget more than anything, unlike modern movies and shows where they deliberately tell you instead of showing you.
The hero is the least interesting character in this movie, yet I'm having fun watching it, I think he's only there because how fit and eye candy he is LOL, anyway, can't wait for the villains start the action and the real fun begins.
Yes, yes, the bad guys entered the area around 44 minute mark awesome..
Damn, the bad guys ship impacted the good guys ship with explosion and the hero is being sucked by air, this is so cool, it's very rare to see scenes like this nowadays.
Ok, the hero and the heroine fight Fallout played by actor Victor Love and the heroine try to help hit Fallout but hit the hero instead LOL. Anyway, the fight ends with Fallout being sucked into space and dying, so basically Fallout just fallen out, people being sucked into space seems to be overused TBH.
Now, it's up to our villainess and the evil leader to face the hero and save the day.
Basically everyone except the hero and the heroine turned out to be evil except Fenner, well he didn't get the chance, as he's dead, the movie also has killer flamethrower robots, this is so cool, a low budget movie made more than 25 years ago is way better than anything I would watch today.
Our villainess went after the heroes to bring them back to injustice with her ship, and fire at them, she was shot by accident by the mother ship which became under the control of the bad guys, and crashed into Cruz played Ray Oriel who is also a bad guy, leaving only the main villain, Ok, that was very lazy, I kind of had fun till the last part, it felt rushed and incomplete, anyway If I took any random modern movie, this one would be absolutely better, villains in this movie are actually villains, they get good screen time, there are good fight and action scenes, some is better than the other, still I wish the movie was more, like the fight scenes seems incomplete or rushed, even the killer robot scene was rushed, but in any case that's some low budget movie from 25 years ago and still stand out today, which is kind of cool.
Anyway the movie also have a commentary, I wish an edited version of the commentary on the video is available on Youtube, it is really fun to watch. In the commentary it explained how the hitwoman actually shot the guard from behind, which I haven't noticed till re-watching the clip one more time and the guard was actually giving his back to her, which is kind of interesting, I think the commentary is about the lead actor Olivier Gruner and Phillip J. Roth commenting on the movie and behind the scene stuff, which is very cool, I would probably rewatch it again for the commentary.
