In 2023 movie An Angry Boy. actress Lauren McCann plays as villainess Jane Downing. Ok, I only knew she's a villainess after I finished like more than half of the movie, so what happened before is that Owen Marshall played by Scott Callenberger save someone being mugged while withdrawing money from the ATM, and his actions was caught on camera and his video became viral, the video brought some people from the past that identified him and went after him and his family, took him and his mother hostages, his mother was killed while being tied to a chair, and the killer escaped when his friend came to the rescue, Owen found out that he suffers from a memory loss and began to regain his memory back, he then went after a cult, Andy played by the great actor Eric Roberts was the leader of the cult, his car broken, then he met our villainess who offered him some help to fix his car.. So, Jane took him to some restaurant to have breakfast, told him a sob story on how she was an addict and how she learned how to help people in need, TBH, I wished she became a villainess, if she wasn't her character would serve no purpose to the story, but what was in my mind is that she take him to have breakfast, and someone steal the car and she just disappear, but she was more insidious, she drugged Owen and took him to the cult, Ricky Anderson played Caleb Lowery is Owen's best friend, he tracked his phone, and trace it back to our villainess place, the villainess fought Ricky and the fight ended with our villainess being stabbed in the neck, afterwards Ricky went to save Owen, Owen is saved, and our poor villainess bled out and died 💔💔💔. The movie is basically drama, so don't expect great fight scenes or action, on the other hand, it's so bloody, like too realistic, which is expected in drama, like when you see scenes with blood, you expect to see practical effect not some cheap computer generated effect, so, it depends on how sensitive you are when it comes to practical effects, Eric Roberts' screen time in the movie is really short, it's like two minutes tops, if you are into drama tragedy, you will like the movie, Lauren McCann acting is also great, she had a small role, but she convinced me that she's good and her made-up backstory is very convincing, Kathy Marshall character played by Laura Frenzer is also well-written making her death scene very emotional, the movie took the right amount of time to introduce her and to show you how nice her character is.
