In 2024 movie Butterfly Shadow. Actresses Jane Wu and Wan Mei Xi plays as female villains Zhu Que and Feng Hong Lei. I'm so excited to watch this movie, I checked it out with its original name, didn't know there is a version with English subtitle, so YAY!! So, the movie starts with the villains under Zhu Que played by the gorgeous Jane Wu attacking a caravan in the desert, and this is insanely good. The villains showed no mercy even to the poor mother who tried to escape them, but wasn't fast enough to do so, yet the hero, Jung-sin, manged to stop the villainess from killing her, to taste the sword of the villainess instead of the mother and her child. The sound effects, again, isn't great, and I can't find the movie on IQ, so, at least I get to watch the movie with subtitle, I wish if I can hear the original sound, but what can I do? It is what it is!! The mother then beg one of the villains to spare her child, while the other villainess still going after her, and when her colleague was about to finish the child, she decided to save the child. Now the group of villains divided over the child, some of them find letting the child live goes against the teachings of the shadow sect, that state that leaving anyone alive is considered failure. The female assassins saw Zhu Que coming from distance, thinking that she's coming to help them, instead she started killing them and went after the child, the character Jane Wu playing in this movie is insane, and I love her, she's so merciless that she went after villains who showed mercy, Jane Wu is the greatest. Now the villainess who refused to kill the child turned against the sect and started to fight Zhu Que and her two henchwomen. I can't believe how brutal this movie is, it's insane, You got to love freedom, that's what creative freedom gives us, great art and great entertainment. Ok, now we know the name of Du Juan which is one of the villains who turned against the sect, she didn't live long, as she faced the swift punishment of Zhu Que. The fight ends with the heroine managing to escape the sect, to disappear in a desert sand storm. After the brutality, we get like some comedic fight, which is weird, and also funny, I liked how the camel kicked the guy LOL. We then have a fight of male bandits, I don't know if they are related to the sect or what, or who are they attacking, they kind of enforced themselves in the movie. Anyway, the movie fast forward in time, so the little child Zhu Que was trying to kill grew up now to be a young girl, and the bandits apparently another alliance in the movie, and it seems that there's a conflict within the alliance. They are releasing lamps to the leader who was killed by the bandits, which is kind of cool. Finally we see Zhu Que again standing next to Feng Hong, and it turns out that the shadow sect is working with the bandits. We have a villainess killing some guy while sleeping together, like, I can't believe how much creative freedom China have especially compared to the west, this is awesome. This movie keeps surprising me, I never get WTF moments as much as I did with this movie, this is so hilarious, the guy is basically doing the meme. The gorgeous Zhu Que with their allies start attacking the caravan of the good guys, she tells her allies to leave Changqing to her, I don't have to finish the movie to know this is like the best character Jane Wu ever played, I'm so in love with the character. Now, the heroine Su Zui, got the weapons she kept hiding for years back in order to stop the villains, as she now know they are coming for her, meanwhile, the gorgeous Zhu Que taunt the poor village residents looking for Changqing. She caught some poor guy, and threatened him to tell her about Changqing's whereabouts, Although he didn't know about where Changqing is, he knew that Changqing liked Su Zui, sending our villainess in her direction, helping our villainess was not enough for her to spare his life tho. Now years later after their confrontation, Zhu Que and Su meet again to finish the fight they started, and she faces the heroine and Chan'er, the girl our villainess tried to kill when she was a baby, the heroine told Chan'er to go outside in order for her to face our villainess. I saw the actress playing Chan'er before, I can't remember in what movie, she looks very familiar tho. I really don't know how to feel about the fight, like, I'm used that Jane Wu get little screentime in other movies, yet in this case, she's like the main character, for her to die in the middle of the movie, and the heroine barely had any trouble defeating her, despite Zhu Que is basically the one who taught her to be assassin kind of disappointing, now I'll watch the rest of the movie with Zhu Que's two henchwomen and Feng Hong Lei, who played less active roles, I really wish if Zhu Que stayed till towards the end of the movie and this confrontation was with one of her henchwomen, now it feels like we are starting a new story with new main villains. Anyway, the heroine went after the alliance afterwards exposing Sha Sanguang and the shadow sect as Japanese spies who work against the resistance. So, while the heroine was busy fighting our villainess, her henchwomen manged to kidnap Chan'er and sent her to Feng Hong Lei, the sect leader. Now, the heroine fight a group of evil Ninjas, this movie is insane, I love it, censorship in the west wouldn't even give permission for such movie to be made, in a few years, a western artist making such movie could be end in prison for committing a thought crime, I wish the fight lasted longer tho, it could've been much better. After the heroine defeated the evil Ninja army, now it's time to confront Zhu Que's henchwomen, and this is kind of the best fight scene in the movie, and I didn't expect that, as the fight with Zhu Que was way shorter, despite Zhu Que was supposed to be stronger than her henchwomen and possibly more than the heroine herself. I wish the movie had like main male ninja, I was hoping that the Ninja army wasn't completely useless, they got defeated too easily, and was expecting them to be more than that, but that would make the movie way bigger than it's supposed to be, anyway, I shouldn't complain, this movie is one of the best movies I've seen for years, it's awesome. Now the heroine have to face the sect's leader, who now wore her Japanese military uniform for battle, the heroine now have to defeat her, and free her Chan, yet what the heroine didn't expect is for Chan to stab her in the back while she's confronting Feng Hong, which is really an interesting plot twist, and much needed to show that Feng Hong Lei still present a really danger and challenge to the heroine, and it's not only her fighting skills. The movie is really good, it's emotional rollercoaster, such an amazing experience, just WOW! That's how movies with creative freedom feel like, I'm so happy I watched it, I wish if it was a TV show, like can you imagine, this, but an entire show?!
