Henchwomen Fight

In 2022 movie The Ancient City of Loulan. Actress Jingwen Xu plays as villainess Xiao Cang. A movie I watch for the first time, hope it's fun..

So basically the movie starts with Cang killing a poor man as she's leading expedition to steal Chinese historical relics.. 

As they were digging, they were attacking with supernatural bad CGI insects, the actors are doing their best, but the CGI looks awful, and to be fair, I don't think they can be done practically, that's why many movies when they do effects like that, they get dark settings so they don't look obviously fake. 

Basically the first 6 minutes of the movie feel as if they don't belong there, especially that they aren't background story of one of the characters but part of the story of the current movie, and they feel that they belong at least half hour in..

Hell, she just cut man's arm around 12 minutes, I didn't expect that, especially in ChinFucking hese movie..

The creators of this movie is having so much fun with the characters, like the heroes basically endanger each others for their own benefit, in a comedic way, the movie basically treat the story as a video game, and I really like it, it's fun.

I'm sure that's not like the greatest action movie ever made, but it's so good, I will never enjoy any modern Hollywood movie as much as I'm enjoying this one, I'm so immersed in the action, I'm not paying attention to the time, and if an action movie achieved that, no matter how small or big its budget is, it succeeded..

So, we have the heroine called Yi Ran played by Kimmy Tong Fei, and the hero Chen Xiao played by Max Mok Siu-Chung, and their friend who rescued Ni Qiu played by Li Yi, and the main villain Hikari Tori played by Minowa Yasufumi..

Around 42 minutes Xiao Cang impaled a collaborator with a sword, she's soulless, she didn't even flinch, like a deadly scorpion fast and deadly..

Ok, the hero put Xiao Cang under the sword to force Hikari Tori's hand to let them go, but Hikari Tori basically didn't care, and the hero was like "You are a lunatic", like, what did you expect? The man minutes ago was trying to find the secret to immortality to his emperor, not himself, not a woman he loves, but the emperor, and if he's willing to find and gift immortality it means he doesn't even care about his own life, and thus wouldn't care about the lives of others to achieve what he considered higher purpose, yeah, I always say villains for me metaphorical of selfishness, and they mostly are, but in this case we are dealing with a selfless villain, which why I personally don't find heroes appealing to me, due to their selfless nature, that's why I also consider heroes a collective localized concept while villains are individualistic globalized concept, because if you see Hikari Tori from the collective angle, the character sacrifice the self, deny their individuality for his collective, that's why he's seeking immortality only to serve his collective, and that's for his collective he's seen as a hero, and from the opposite collective he's seen as a heartless villain, for the same exact reason, that his actions are inhumane, that's why in order to humanize heroic character, you need to give them individualistic motive, even if they have also a collective goal, which is why in movies the villains take someone that the hero really care about or love, and use such individualistic goal to humanize them for people who aren't part of the collective.

I'm 1 hour 6 minutes in the movie now, and the monsters looks much better in the dark environment, and would look even more better with a little adjustment of the light..

Did I just say the monsters look good under ground? Well, I take it back LOL, because they look awful once again around 1 hour 8 minutes.

The main villain died in explosion, really, that's it? Like, the whole movie didn't have a challenging villain, till now with the main villain and Xiao Cang, and now the main villain died that easy even before Xiao Cang!!

Xiao Cang last confrontation just happen moments afterwards in 1 hour 17 minutes..

The movie was awesome, I really miss these fun movies, and Japanese villains are the best when it comes to Chinese movies, I wish if the confrontation was longer, it kind of feels they wrapped things up quickly, while they could have had a longer fight, even if the main villain died in explosion, at least I was expecting to get a good fight afterwards, and maybe a long challenging fight between the heroine and the villainess and at least the villainess get an upper hand at some point in the fight..

Anyway, Jingwen Xu was great playing the villainess in this movie, with her firm merciless and sometimes soulless reactions, she's a really good actress, I hope to see more movies of her..

In 2022 movie Hit Team. Actress Sabrina Qiu plays as villainess Winnie.

Let's start watching, the movie starts with a flashback in the 90s of an police operation going after a target, it seems that one of the girls with the bad guys is undercover cop and filming what's going on, like, wait a minute, isn't that in the 90s? TBH, I don't give a shit, if it's fun it's fun, I don't care if they are using digital cameras in the 90s with undercover female cop.

We are being introduced to Susan, which I suppose the heroine of the movie.

The father of the main villain is being beating by a stick by his father, which is kind of funny, not like he's a drug lord or something!! 

Then his sister stepped in saying that she found some people to give him alibis, like, everyone saw him there, still I don't care, that's not a criticism of the movie, it really doesn't matter, the only thing that matter is for the movie to be fun to watch.

God, I wish if I can learn Chinese, like if there's like a button I click to erase everything in my memory that have anything with English and with western culture, and replace it with understanding Chinese, and even better being able to talk Chinese, and replace the western culture I admired my whole life with Chinese culture, that would be a dream, the thing is, their language is extremely hard and can take a lifetime to learn, but again there was no way I would be thinking that like 7 years ago or something, but it is what it is!!

The main villain sent his men after the hero, to attack him and his wife in the restaurant.

Damn, a knife fight, the fight is so cool I'm smiling watching it, I would never see such fight scene in a movie made in the west due to censorship, this is so fun.

So, the father, Long, is planning to give our gorgeous villainess the leadership of the organization after his son ruined things for his empire, and now he find our villainess is stronger to be the leader.

After Long left the meeting, the cops showed up to arrest Jason, our villainess stepped in to face them, and before they take him, she assured her brother that she will take care of him.

 Our gorgeous villainess goes to the hero, trying to seduce him, to get her brother out, thankfully justice is blind, if it wasn't, humanity is screwed, like, who can resist a request of a stunning woman like Winnie?!

In the next scene our gorgeous Winnie with her henchmen were torturing a man, who was the right hand of her brother, and the man asked for her help, and she ordered them to let him go. Yet it wasn't entirely a charitable act, as Winnie only did that to make sure he agree to take the blame of her brother.

  And as our genius villainess has planned, her brother manged to get released, yet, he wasn't grateful as he should've been for what Winnie did for him, despite how difficult it was to get him of such situation.

Our villainess stalk the hero and act if she met him by accident in the swimming pool, she used how seductive she is to try to lure him and then started a conversation with him ended with her getting his number.

Sabrina Qiu is absolutely the star of this movie, you would never get a movie like that in the west, it would be censored beyond recognition.

Damn, the fight scene around 30 minute time mark is insane, didn't expect it to be this good.

Now we go back to Jason and his call with the Japanese evil guy, he talk to Jason, and tell him how his sister would take his place, as his father recommend, so said the only solution to keep that from happening is to kill his father.

And he tried to poisoned him and by accident the bottle fell from his hand, and his father went after him with the stick, like I totally get it, his son is bringing shame to the family, he can't even do such simple task, there's no way he can take care of the family business, Winnie on the other hand, would easily do it if she wanted to, that's why she deserve to take care of the business after her father. 

So, our villainess called the hero to save her, saying that her brother have a gun and going after her father, when the hero arrived found her father dead and our villainess is taken hostage by Jason, when the hero confronted him, Jason said "I will die anyway, and I will take her with me", we get like a blackout of the confrontation, so, we assume that the hero shot him to save the villainess, which probably isn't true.

With both her father and brother out of the picture, Winnie rose to power unchallenged, not only that, she also manged to frame the hero for the murder of her brother, proving that she's not just gorgeously beautiful, but incredibly smart too.

Not only she took over the family business, now she went after the competition one by one, the same people who she once considered as a family, and were so close to her father.

 Winnie found out that he brother wasn't dead, and he's under police custody, and if he woke up from the coma, all her evil plans would be destroyed, so, she has to keep him from talking. 

Yet the heroine was aware of our villainess intentions, and she tried to move Jason as Winnie's evil organization was attacking the hospital, yet, she failed.

Now, our villainess started celebrating victory in her big mansion, feeling more confidant that now she can build her evil empire without anyone standing in her way and disrupting her plans.

Only things weren't that easy as the heroine manged to survive and also save Jason, who woke up from the coma and ready to testify against the gorgeous villainess, and now Winnie have to face the heroine face to face.

Wow, a movie made for entertainment, it feels like meeting an old friend that you haven't seen for years, I love this movie so much I wanna hug it LOL. The sweet sweet creative and artistic freedom that can only be found in Asia, and once existed in the west.
