In 2022 movie I am a Special Policewoman. actress Mayela De l'Arc plays as villainess Lina. Ok, I watched the movie last night, here's what I think about it.. So, the movie starts with a police raid on a criminal location, fully prepared, the movie have a great start, they end up in a trap, they kind of cut the clip to show the intro and the movie title, but if you want such scene more impactful, so the viewer share the hero's frustration, you should've really focus on such scene and the aftermath, and the impact on the heroine, maybe even push it later in the movie, show how close the team are, then show the impact of losing one of the team, with the shocking scene. This is my personal taste, but I think about having a scene in English in a Chinese movie kind of making the movie less unique, I don't miss English to hear it in a Chinese movie, especially if it became and obstacle for the actors, and on the way they show their emotion, it's a personal thing, but I think some people may like having Chinese actors speaking English as they wouldn't have to read the subtitle, me personally, I don't mind reading the subtitle. The male villain is really good actor, his emotions, and reactions is very good, I like that, In the fight with the bad guy that end up being thrown out of the building, it would be better if the fight was more realistic, if the villain hurt the heroine, it will put tension on the heroine, thus a tension on the story, making the viewer more engaging with it, many battles and somehow without scratch, the problem with movies today that is written as a confrontation between perfection and imperfection while it would be more interesting if it was like a journey from imperfection towards perfection, challenges should be like tests for the heroine getting harder and harder overtime till in the end she overcome the challenges, without that, it would feel unrealistic, like a video game with infinite lives, where your character stay unharmed, make the viewer less intersting in it, and kind of care less about the character. That's one of the reason Die Hard became popular, the hero seemed like ordinary man, facing challenges, growing over time, but once the hero reach the point of perfection, the point of being unbeatable, unchallenged, it's time either to end the movie, or kill the hero character, as he will end up being boring and uninteresting.

That's one of the reasons I hate superhero movies, they are some of the most inhumane characters to exist, yeah, you can add some plots to fix them, but the idea of watching a perfect character that have so little to grow, and so little challenges to overcome isn't my thing, that's why they always tend magnify the threat facing them, like every time with superhero saving the world, it was done too many times that it can hardly be considered a challenge, humans don't care as much about the world no more, and already thinking the idea of being enslaved by aliens from outer space doesn't seem so bad lol..

Now, the scene with the villainess killing the rest of the bad guys, here's my problem with it, you build the tension during the movie around the main villain, then you just ended the tension around them using the villainess, in order to do that, the villainess has to be a greater danger to the heroine, something wasn't established early on, so the movie kind of putting the heroine from a more dangerous situation into a less dangerous situation, and the story kind of ended, the movie could at least give the male hero a good fight with one of the main villains, once our lovely villainess killed her partners, you kind of don't engage and care about the heroine that much, as it's all went easy for her, and you don't expect much challenge, not saying I didn't enjoy her last fight with our villainess, it's just like deescalating the danger, and we could both have a final fight with the villainess and also a confrontation with the main villain.. Anyway, love you, Lina πŸ’–πŸ’—πŸ₯°πŸ’ž, what a cute villainess, and I'm gonna absolutely check more of Mayela De l'Arc movies.
