movie name : What Happened to Monday
actress name : Noomi Rapace, Cassie Clare, Glenn Close and Cecilie A. Mosli
character name : Monday, Zaquia and Nicolette Cayman
year : 2017
In 2017 movie What Happened to Monday. actresses Noomi Rapace and Cassie Clare play as female villains Wednesday and Zaquia. What Happened to Monday is one of the best modern female-led movies I ever watched, the movie is about the increase of population and how the world took drastic measures to face it, forcing a one child policy, so, the movie have 7 identical twins named after the days of the week all of them are played by the amazing Noomi Rapace, the movie shows propaganda everywhere promoting the new policy and encouraging sterilization, TBH, I don't like the term propaganda as it's a biased term, but you get what I mean..
So the seven sisters have to take one identity to the outsider world, but inside their home they get to be who they really are as one family..
so, one of the sisters decided to go out without permission to Skateboarding, she ended up cutting the tip of her finger, as a result of that, all the other sisters had to suffer the same injury in order to stay identical, the scene is so hard to watch, but it shows you the gravity of the situation.
One of the things I find weird about transparent screens is the one being scanned can see the results of the scan exactly as the guard scanning them, and I also find it less reliable and a waste of resources for a futuristic reality obsessed with sustainability, it would make way more sense if the doors were automatic and the bracelet is being scanned using wifi, and whenever something is wrong the guards can step in, they don't have to be seen in such obvious way, anyway, that's me being picky..
Our main villainess is agent of Child Allocation Bureau CAB, she and another agent arrested one of the sisters and took her into a car for hiding the fact she's not a lonely child.
The scene when one of the sisters met Nicolette Cayman played by Glenn Close and the sister dropped a tear when Nicolette confronted her about being one of seven identical twins, damn, this scene gave me shills.
So, the guards went into their home, brutally shot the doorman, the sister fought back, an incredible fight scene, what makes it more incredible is all the sisters are played by Noomi Rapace, yet everyone of them feel so unique even in their fight style and the viewer care about every single one of them, as everyone seem to have a unique convincing character, just incredible.
As a result of the attack Sunday was shot and died at the end, so, two of the sisters were taken, one of them was shot, now, four sisters remain free.
The evil agents wanted to erase every trace of the sister, and terminate everyone who knew about them, to cover up the fact that they survived this long, so they chase one of the sisters, our beloved villainess had a car accident when she was chasing the sister and had to chase her on-foot.
The sister ended up being shot in the head by one of the agents at the end of the chase, the other sisters were shocked and couldn't believe what they just saw as they put a camera on her and were monitoring her movements and guiding her to escape.
Towards the end of the movie, only one of the sisters manged to survive and with the help of Adrian Knowles played by Marwan Kenzari, she infiltrated the facility that was used to eliminate siblings and burn them secretly while in public they claimed to protect them and keep them alive. All I can say about the movie is Noomi Rapace is one of the greatest actresses of all time, just incredible, the movie have many female villains and all of them are great, Zaquia is my favorite, henchwomen are always my favorite characters, I watched this movie for the first time in 2018, and I'm so happy I watched it again in 2024, You will see it in so different way today.
